The WRA boys varsity tennis team continued its impressive run on May 7, defeating Aurora 5–0 at home.
Following an inspiring pre-match speech from junior Collin Si, the Pioneers came out focused and controlled play across the lineup from start to finish.
At #1 singles, Roberts Sartor '26 set the tone with a commanding 6–1, 6–0 victory. Govindha Chadalavada '27 matched that effort at #3 singles, playing a steady and consistent match on his way to a 6–1, 6–0 win.
At #2 singles, Collin Si '27 faced a tough counter punching opponent but remained patient and composed throughout the match. Si eventually pulled away for a strong 6–4, 6–2 victory.
The doubles teams continued the momentum for WRA. At #1 doubles, Griffin Vaughn '26 and Mekhi Hoyte '28 battled through competitive points and key moments to earn a 6–3, 6–3 win. At #2 doubles, seniors Sanam Mody '26 and Gordon Dix '26 showcased strong chemistry and aggressive net play in a decisive 6–2, 6–2 victory.
The Pioneers continue to build momentum as the season progresses and will travel to Geneva High School on Friday, May 8.
