The WRA boys varsity tennis team put together a strong all-around effort on April 28, defeating Perry High School 4–1 at home.
WRA set the tone in singles play, where Roberts Sartor '26 and Sanam Mody '26 earned dominant victories at #2 and #3 singles. Sartor cruised to a 6–0, 6–1 win, while Mody was flawless in a 6–0, 6–0 performance.
The Pioneers carried that momentum into doubles. At #1 doubles, Griffin Vaughn '26 and Mekhi Hoyte '28 controlled the match from start to finish, winning 6–1, 6–2. The #2 doubles team of Gordy Dix '26 and Govi Chadalavada '27 was equally impressive, securing a 6–1, 6–1 victory.
The most competitive match of the day came at #1 singles, where Collin Si '27 made his debut at the top position. Si battled through long rallies and momentum swings, nearly completing a comeback after trailing late in the second set. Despite the effort, he ultimately fell 6–4, 7–5.
With the win, WRA continues to build momentum and will look ahead to its next match on Thursday, April 30, at home against Padua.
