The WRA girls varsity lacrosse team came up just short in a closely contested matchup on April 23, falling 10–9 to Bay at home.
The game was competitive throughout, with Bay holding a narrow 4–3 lead after the first quarter. WRA responded to even the score at 5–5 by halftime, but Bay regained the edge in the third, taking a 9–8 lead into the final quarter. Despite a strong push from the Pioneers, Bay was able to hold on for the one-goal victory.
Ellie Flores '27 led the offensive effort with three goals, while also contributing a ground ball, three draw controls, and a caused turnover. Sass Huff '26 added two goals, two ground balls, and four draw controls, and Shiloh Nelson '29 contributed two goals.
Colleen McAlonie '27 added two goals along with a ground ball and three draw controls. Leah Petras '27 and Amaya Gomez '28 each contributed assists to support the offense.
Despite the result, WRA showed resilience in a hard-fought game and will look to bounce back in its next matchup on April 28 on the road against Rocky River.
