The Pioneers continued their strong start to the season with a dominant 5-0 win over Gilmour Academy, improving their overall record to 3-1.
In singles play, sophomore standout
Collin Si ('27) and senior leader
Arsh Goyal ('25) made quick work of their opponents at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions, respectively. Si powered through with a convincing 6-0, 6-3 win, while Goyal delivered a flawless 6-0, 6-0 rout, proving once again why he's one of the anchors of this year's squad.
At No. 3 singles, senior
Chase Walker ('25) made this season's varsity debut one to remember. Playing with confidence and poise, Walker secured a 6-1, 6-2 win in his first appearance, adding more depth to an already impressive singles lineup.
The doubles teams followed suit, continuing the team's dominance. At No. 1 doubles, the pairing of K. Gong ('25) and G. Vaughn ('26) rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 win. At No. 2 doubles, S. Mody ('26) and V. Wang ('26) matched the top team's energy with an identical 6-0, 6-1 victory. For Victor, it marked this season's first varsity match—and a memorable one at that—as he helped secure the team sweep.
The Pioneers will look to carry this momentum into their next match on Friday, May 2, when they host the Chagrin Falls Tigers at the WRA tennis courts.
