In a hard-fought defensive battle on April 15, Girls Lacrosse outlasted Strongsville 9 – 6 on our home turf. After a scoreless first quarter, the Pioneers surged ahead with six unanswered goals in the second, setting the tone for the remainder of the game.
Sass Huff led the charge with 3 goals, 1 assist and 10 dominant draw controls. Ellie Flores also netted 3 goals and added 4 draw controls, while Katherine Becker contributed 2 goals, 4 ground balls and 5 caused turnovers in a stellar two-way performance. Mia Cruz and Leah Petras rounded out the offensive efforts.
In goal, Abbi Bernhardt posted a 50% save rate and came up big in one-on-one situations, stopping four crucial shots to help seal the win.
