Girls Lacrosse hosted Shady Side on April 17 and delivered another commanding performance, winning 13 – 6. After a tight first quarter tied 2 – 2, the Pioneers found their rhythm with a five-goal run in the second, locking in a 7 – 2 halftime lead and never looking back.
Sass Huff paced the offense with 5 goals and an assist. Ellie Flores (2G, 2A), Avery Harris (1G, 2A), Lydia Stropki (1G, 2A), and Katherine Becker (1G, 2A) contributed balanced scoring across the board, while Mia Cruz added two goals and Kelly Harrington chipped in with one.
Defensively, Caitlin Cronkey, Lilah Turnbull, Kelly Harrington and Emma Van Ginkel were instrumental in holding Shady Side scoreless in the second quarter, allowing the Pioneers to pull ahead. In goal, Abbi Bernhardt recorded 6 saves with a 55% save rate.
With this win, the Pioneers remain undefeated on the season.
