The Western Reserve Academy Varsity Boys and Girls Swimming teams turned in an impressive performance at the 2026 Canton Championship Meet, competing against top programs from across Ohio.
Leading the way was Roxi Rubiano '28, who delivered a dominant individual performance with first-place finishes in both the Girls 50 Yard Freestyle (26.11) and the Girls 100 Yard Freestyle (59.04). Her speed and composure in the sprint events set the tone for an outstanding day in the pool.
On the boys' side, Otto Burkhardt '28Â earned a runner-up finish in the 100 Yard Breaststroke (1:10.12), while Cindy Huang '27Â secured a third-place finish in the Girls 100 Yard Backstroke (1:22.68), highlighting the team's strength in the stroke events.
WRA's relay squads were also competitive, earning fourth-place finishes in both the Girls 200 Yard Medley Relay (2:16.20) and the Boys 200 Yard Medley Relay (2:07.17). Additional standout efforts included Elle Swoope '27Â placing seventh in the 500 Yard Freestyle and Tyler Omega '28Â finishing sixth in the 100 Yard Breaststroke.
Several Pioneers recorded personal-best times at the championship meet, including Wilder Rizza '29, Nick Ross '29, Adeline Seink '28, Reagan Noble '29, and Brendan Bennett '28.
The Pioneers will next compete at the Eastern Championships on February 13–14 at Franklin & Marshall College.
