Western Reserve Academy hosted Kenston on December 11 and delivered a night filled with standout performances, highlighted by a dramatic boys' victory and several impressive individual efforts on both sides of the roster. The boys secured a narrow 82–78 win, while the girls fell 105–37 but earned important top finishes.
The boys' meet came down to depth and clutch swims. WRA opened on a high note with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay, as the team of Ryan Bonomo '29, Otto Burkhardt '28, Alex Li '27, and James Johnston '27 touched first in 1:52.94. That momentum continued into the individual races, where Bonomo captured the 200-yard freestyle in 2:09.91, and Kalen Mulligan '27 delivered a strong double, winning the 100-yard breaststroke (1:14.39) and taking second in the 200 IM (2:25.60).
Additional key points came from Alex Li, who finished second in the 100-yard freestyle (56.53), and Ronan Flower '28, who battled to second place in the 500-yard freestyle (6:04.34). These performances proved crucial in helping WRA out-touch Kenston in the overall boys' score.
On the girls' side, Roxi Rubiano '28 continued her outstanding early-season form, sweeping both of her events. She won the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 150.05 and later captured the 100-yard butterfly in 1:09.23, leading the way for the Pioneers.
It was a meet defined by competitive spirit, strong relay execution, and breakout efforts across the lineup.
WRA will return to action after winter break when they travel to face Kiski on January 8.
