The Western Reserve Academy Boys Varsity Swimming team showcased its talent and depth at the 2026 Eastern Interscholastic Swimming & Diving Championships, one of the premier prep swimming meets in the country.
The Pioneers were led by their relay teams, both of which advanced to the finals and secured 24th-place finishes overall. The 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Ryan Bonomo '29, Alex Li '27, Kalen Mulligan '27, and Davis Levengood '26 delivered a strong performance, as did the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay squad of Bonomo, Mulligan, Li, and Levengood. Competing on the national stage, both groups demonstrated composure and competitive drive against some of the top independent school programs in the country.
Individually, Ryan Bonomo led the way with the team's top finish, placing 45th in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 59.74. Kalen Mulligan followed closely behind, finishing 54th in the same event.
Reserve also showed impressive depth in the sprint freestyle events. In the 50 Yard Freestyle, Davis Levengood (24.32) and James Johnston (25.23) paced a strong Pioneer contingent. The 100 Yard Freestyle featured six WRA swimmers James Johnston, Davis Levengood, Jeffrey Zhou, Kalen Mulligan, Alex Li, and Ryan Bonomo highlighting the program's balance and depth across events.
It was a fantastic weekend of competition and growth for the Pioneers as they represented Western Reserve Academy with pride on a national stage.
