The Western Reserve Academy swimming & diving teams competed on the road against Twinsburg High School on January 21, highlighted by an impressive performance from the boys' squad, which earned a 95–80 victory. The girls' team gained valuable experience against a deep Twinsburg lineup, finishing the meet with continued momentum heading into championship season.
The WRA boys delivered a well-rounded showing, earning first-place finishes in both the 200 Yard Medley Relay and the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay. Individually, Davis Levengood '26 captured first in the 50 Yard Freestyle (25.22), Alex Li '27 took the top spot in the 100 Yard Butterfly (1:02.22), and Ryan Bonomo '29 won the 100 Yard Backstroke (1:03.68), helping secure the overall team win.
On the girls' side, Roxi Rubiano '28 led the way with a first-place finish in 1-meter diving (160.70) and added a second-place result in the 100 Yard Freestyle.
Strong additional performances included Kalen Mulligan '27, who finished second in both the 200 Yard Freestyle and 100 Yard Breaststroke, and Lauren Keller '27, who earned second place in the 500 Yard Freestyle.
The meet also highlighted the program's depth and growth, with key contributions and first-time efforts from Reagan Noble '29 in the 500 Freestyle, Wilder Rizza '29 in the 200 IM and 500 Freestyle, and Jeffery Zhou '28 in the 100 Yard Breaststroke, reinforcing the team-first culture of the program.
WRA now turns its focus toward championship season, with the Canton Championships set for February 7, followed by the Eastern Championships later in the month. With continued improvement across the roster, the Pioneers look poised for a strong finish to an already successful season. Go Pioneers!
