The Western Reserve Academy Girls Varsity Basketball team capped off an impressive weekend with a 57–47 victory over Lake Forest Academy (IL), completing the two-game sweep of the Caxys on Sunday afternoon.
The Pioneers came out with tremendous energy and focus, dominating the first half on both ends of the floor. Reserve's defensive pressure and efficient offense helped build a commanding 31–11 lead at halftime, putting the Pioneers firmly in control.
Lake Forest Academy responded in the second half with renewed intensity, steadily chipping away at the deficit. The Caxys trimmed the lead to just six points entering the fourth quarter, but the Pioneers remained composed. Strong defensive stops and timely baskets allowed Reserve to maintain its advantage and close out the 57–47 win.
Nina Bilic '28 led the Pioneers with an outstanding all-around performance, recording 19 points, 6 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 steals, and 2 assists. Tara Nachbar '28 added 10 points and 5 assists, while Eva Barron '27 contributed 9 points and 5 assists. Norah Fuld '26 controlled the glass with 8 rebounds to go along with 8 points, and Emerie Davis '27 added 7 points and 5 rebounds.
The victory marks the Pioneers' 13th win of the season and continues an impressive streak of 13 or more wins in five consecutive seasons.
Reserve will look to carry its momentum on the road Wednesday when they travel to Geneva to face SPIRE.
