The Western Reserve Academy Girls Varsity Basketball team continued its strong homestand Saturday afternoon, earning a 60–50 victory over Lake Forest Academy (IL) in the first of back-to-back matchups against the Caxys.
The Pioneers maintained control throughout the contest, executing efficiently on both ends of the floor. Reserve built a steady lead in the first half and carried a 27–21 advantage into halftime behind balanced scoring and strong defensive play.
Western Reserve continued to dictate the tempo in the second half, using timely baskets and defensive pressure to keep Lake Forest Academy at bay and secure the double-digit win.
Nina Bilic '28 led the way with a dominant all-around performance, finishing with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals, 2 assists, and 2 blocks. Tara Nachbar '28 made a strong return to action, contributing 12 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Eva Barron '27 added 11 points and provided steady leadership throughout the game.
Norah Fuld '26 controlled the glass with 7 rebounds while adding defensive impact, and Mia Lindal '26 and Avery Childress '29 each contributed 5 points to round out the balanced team effort.
The Pioneers will look to extend their winning streak and complete the weekend sweep when they host Lake Forest Academy again Sunday.
