The Western Reserve Academy Girls Varsity Basketball team delivered a memorable Senior Night performance Thursday evening, rallying from a double-digit deficit to defeat cross-town rival Hudson High School, 57–51, in front of a packed and energized home crowd.

The Pioneers started strong, jumping out to an early 8–3 lead, but foul trouble and turnovers slowed their momentum. Hudson capitalized late in the second quarter, closing the half on an 8–0 run to take a 29–19 advantage into halftime.

Reserve regrouped after the break and began chipping away at the deficit. With just under five minutes remaining in the third quarter and trailing 38–25, freshman Avery Childress '29 knocked down a deep three-pointer that ignited a game-changing 15–0 run. Norah Fuld '26 capped the surge with a three of her own, giving the Pioneers a 40–38 lead and shifting the energy decisively in Reserve's favor.

The Pioneers extended their lead to eight points in the fourth quarter, but Hudson continued to battle. The Explorers cut the deficit to 53–51 with under a minute remaining, but Reserve stayed composed, making key defensive stops and converting crucial free throws down the stretch to secure the rivalry victory.

Emerie Davis '27 led the way with a dominant performance, recording 14 points, 11 rebounds, and strong defensive contributions. Childress added 13 points, while Eva Barron '27 contributed 12 points and 6 assists. Fuld anchored the defense with 11 rebounds and 4 blocks, and Mia Lindal '26 added 8 points and steady leadership. Nina Bilic '28 provided key rebounding and defensive presence throughout the contest.

The Pioneers will look to build on their momentum as they begin a two-game home-stand against Lake Forest Academy (IL) on Saturday.
