The Western Reserve Academy Girls Varsity Basketball team turned in a strong road performance Friday night, defeating The Lawrenceville School (NJ) 65–33.
The opening half was tightly contested, with both teams trading baskets early. The Pioneers held a slim 13–10 edge after the first quarter before finding their rhythm late in the second, extending the lead to 28–17 at halftime.
WRA broke the game open coming out of the locker room with a dominant third-quarter run. Fueled by contributions from Nina Bilic '28, Tara Nachbar '28, Maliyah Lofton '26, Norah Fuld '26, and Emerie Davis '27, the Pioneers outscored the Big Red 28–8 in the quarter, seizing full control of the game and never looking back.
Sophomores Nina Bilic '28 and Tara Nachbar '28 led the scoring effort with 13 points apiece. Maliyah Lofton '26 did an excellent job orchestrating the offense, finishing with eight points, while Norah Fuld '26, Mia Lindal '26, and Kobi Marsden '28 each added five points.
The Pioneers now turn their attention to a major test on Saturday afternoon, traveling to face ESPN-ranked No. 13 Westtown School (PA) at 1:00 PM. Go Pioneers!
