The WRA JV Girls Tennis team turned in one of its best performances of the season on Monday, earning a 7–0 home sweep over Revere. All seven doubles courts contributed victories, with several matches featuring thrilling comebacks that highlighted the team's grit and growth.
At the top of the lineup, Lauren Keller '27 and Nadia Kischke '27 secured a steady 6–2, 6–2 win, while Anna Barger '28 and Emily Zhang '28 followed with a composed 6–3, 6–3 victory. The comeback of the day came from Sophia Gruhl '27 and Corinne Seink '27 , who erased a 1–5 first-set deficit to storm back for a 7–5, 6–0 win. Addie Mendelson '26 and Gabby Boykin '26 added another point with a solid 6–2, 6–4 result, and Sofia Khallifa '27 and Sophia Song '27 matched that with a convincing 6–2, 6–2 win.
Rose Huang '28 and Kate Morgan '29 celebrated their first career match win in dramatic fashion, battling to a 6–4, 7–5 victory. Meanwhile, Wendy Zhang '29 and Daisy Wei '28 staged another comeback of their own, rallying from a 0–4 hole in the first set to take it 7–5, 6–4.
The sweep showcased the team's resilience and underscored the progress made throughout the season. With momentum building, the JV Pioneers will return to action for their final match of the year on Monday, October 6, at home against Brecksville–Broadview Heights.
