The Western Reserve Academy JV Girls Tennis team traveled to Solon on Tuesday, September 9, where they faced a strong Comets squad and fell 5–0 in a competitive match.
Several matches were tightly contested, with Sophia Gruhl '27 putting up a strong fight at #1 singles before dropping a close first set in her 7–5, 6–0 loss. At #3 singles, Corinne Seink '27 also pushed her opponent deep into the second set before falling 6–2, 7–5.
The doubles teams showed resilience as well, highlighted by Sophia Song '27 and Sophia Khallafi '27 who battled through three sets before coming up just short in a 4–6, 6–2, 1–0 loss.
Despite the final score, the Pioneers displayed grit and determination across the lineup, with Gruhl and Seink earning special recognition for their competitive play.
WRA will look to bounce back quickly when they host Laurel on Wednesday, September 10.
