The WRA Varsity Boys' Soccer team traveled to Spire Academy on Saturday, September 27, where they played a competitive first half before ultimately falling 4–1 in a challenging matchup.
The Pioneers started strong, matching Spire's pace and organization early on. Leo Chu '27 found the back of the net in the first half to level the score at 1–1, finishing a well-executed play assisted by Max Born '26 and Tomás Estevez '26.
Despite a composed and disciplined effort, WRA couldn't hold off Spire's second-half surge, as the hosts capitalized on their chances to pull ahead.
While the result didn't go their way, the Pioneers showed strong teamwork, creativity in attack, and resilience throughout the match. They'll look to bounce back quickly when they travel to face University School on Friday, October 3.
