The WRA Varsity Boys' Soccer team hosted undefeated and top-ranked Woodstock Academy (CT) on Sunday, October 12. Despite a strong effort and organized defensive play, the Pioneers fell 4–0 to an experienced and confident opponent.
Woodstock struck twice in each half, but WRA showed resilience throughout the match, holding their shape and battling to the final whistle despite missing several key starters due to injury. Goalkeeper Brennan Restorick '26 delivered another impressive performance, making six saves on ten shots on goal to keep the scoreline respectable against a relentless offensive attack.
Offensively, the Pioneers managed three total shots (two on target) and earned one corner kick, while the hosts recorded 13 shots (10 on goal) and seven corners.
Though the result didn't go WRA's way, the team's discipline, defensive organization, and work rate stood out against elite competition. The Pioneers will look to regroup and get healthy as they return home to face Andrews Osborne Academy on Saturday, October 18.
