The WRA Varsity Boys' Soccer team improved to 5–0–0 on the season with a gritty 3–2 victory over RMPUS (Canada) on Saturday at the NXTLVL Showcase in New York.
The opening half was tightly contested, with both sides finding the back of the net. Junior Gizmo Sutiklangwiharn '27 opened the scoring for WRA, before RMPUS responded on a penalty kick to send the match into halftime tied 1–1.
The Pioneers came out strong after the break, pushing ahead with goals from senior Tomas Estevez '26 and senior Max Born '26, who also added an assist. Junior Ian Price '27 contributed the other assist that helped WRA build a 3–1 lead. Although RMPUS scored late to close the gap, the Pioneers held firm to secure the win.
The performance of goalkeeper Brennan Restorick '26 was pivotal. He recorded five saves, including a crucial penalty stop, and was named Man of the Match for his efforts in preserving the victory.
WRA will return to action on Sunday, September 21, against Bergen Catholic (NJ) at the NXTLVL Showcase.
