The WRA Varsity Girls Soccer team opened their season on the road with an impressive 5–1 win over the Padua Bruins on Wednesday, August 27. The Pioneers struck early and often, taking a 3–1 lead into halftime before closing out the match with two more goals in the second half.
Maddie McNamara '27 led the charge with a hat trick, scoring three goals to pace the attack. She was joined on the score sheet by Zoe Kusuma '27 and Amelia Botros '28, who added one goal apiece. Botros also tallied an assist, while Gabby Palache '27 provided two assists and Lilly Morgan '26 added one. In goal, Sydney Swiderski anchored the defense with four key saves.
With a strong team effort on both sides of the field, the Pioneers start the year 1–0. They return to action on Saturday, August 30, when they host Revere at 11:00 a.m. (JV) and 1:00 p.m. (Varsity).
