The Western Reserve Academy Pioneers delivered a statement performance in their regular-season finale on Tuesday, February 25th, defeating Run The Show 114-77 in a game where every player on the roster scored—a testament to the team's depth and unselfishness. With the Conference Tournament looming, WRA showcased its defensive presence, scoring efficiency, and a 53-21 rebounding demolition.
Anthony Thompson '26 posted a monstrous 28-point, 15-rebound double-double, punctuated by a jaw-dropping breakaway dunk that ignited the bench. Donovan Carney '26 and CJ Stinson '25 added 16 points apiece, while Stinson and Pavle Ridesic '25 orchestrated the offense with near-flawless precision, combining for 12 assists and just 1 turnover. The Pioneers shot a scorching 59% from the field, overpowering Run The Show inside despite a three-point shootout that saw both teams hoist 41 attempts from deep.
Defensively, WRA smothered their opponents into 35% shooting, surrendering just 4 offensive rebounds all game. The Pioneers' relentless effort on the glass fueled transition opportunities and second-chance points, turning the game into a rout by halftime.
"When everyone contributes like this, it's special," said Head Coach Matt Garvey. "Anthony's energy, CJ and Pavle's poise, Donovan's spark—this is how we want to roll into the playoffs."
Tournament Bound: As the regular-season curtain closes, WRA will host the Ohio Prep Conference (OPC) Tournament this week at home, with games scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.
