The Western Reserve Academy Boys Varsity Basketball team faced a strong challenge on the road Saturday night, falling to SPIRE Academy 105–86.
The Pioneers kept the game competitive early, trailing just 47–40 at halftime behind strong offensive performances and steady execution. SPIRE used a high-tempo second half to create separation, but Reserve continued to battle throughout the contest.
Anthony Thompson '26 led all scorers for the Pioneers with an outstanding 31-point performance. Dominick Sprague '26 added 18 points, providing a strong scoring presence, while Cam Hailey '26 contributed 13 points to round out the team's offensive effort.
Despite the loss, the Pioneers showed resilience against a talented SPIRE squad and will look to regroup heading into their next matchup.
Western Reserve returns to action on March 3 when they face AOA.
