Pioneers Pull Away in Second Half to Defeat Winston-Salem Christian

The Western Reserve Academy Boys Varsity Basketball team used a dominant second-half performance to defeat Winston-Salem Christian 86–65 on Friday night at home.

After a tightly contested first half that ended in a 37–37 tie, the Pioneers came out of the locker room with renewed intensity. Reserve tightened its defense, controlled the glass, and found its offensive rhythm to create separation in the second half.

Anthony Thompson '26 led the charge with 24 points and 9 rebounds, setting the tone on both ends of the floor. Cam Hailey '26 and Breylon Webb '26 each added 12 points, while Dom Sprague '26 contributed 10 points in a balanced team effort.

The Pioneers' defensive pressure and unselfish ball movement proved to be the difference, as they pulled away late to secure the 21-point victory.

Reserve will look to build on the momentum when they host Fork Union Military Academy on February 21.
