The Western Reserve Academy Pioneers electrified their home crowd on Saturday, Feb. 22, defeating West Nottingham Academy (MD) 84-74 during their spirited "Beach Bash" theme day and Senior Day festivities, where the program honored six seniors: Cullen Sullivan, Thomas Hunt, Trey Cady, Pavle Ridesic, CJ Stinson, and Torr Sorensen. With a barrage of three-pointers and unselfish play, WRA secured its second win in as many days.
Anthony Thompson '26 dominated with a game-high 29 points and 13 rebounds, drilling 4 three-pointers to set the tone early. Torr Sorensen '25 added a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double, sinking 5 threes in a sharpshooting clinic. The Pioneers set the nets ablaze from deep, connecting on 14 three-pointers as a team—far outpacing West Nottingham's 3—with CJ Reef '27 and Donovan Carney '26 each adding 2 triples to the onslaught.
CJ Stinson '25 orchestrated the offense masterfully, dishing out 11 assists while controlling the tempo, and Pavle Ridesic '25 delivered a versatile 10-point, 6-rebound, 5-assist effort to round out WRA's balanced attack.
"When we share the ball and shoot with this kind of confidence, we're tough to beat," said Head Coach Matt Garvey. "Celebrating our seniors today made this win even more special—they've given so much to this program."
