The girls traveled up to Magnificat High School to take on the #2 Ranked Division I program in OHSAA. The Pioneers got off to a strong start thanks to some great defensive plays from
Islay Moore '25. In a back and forth first half, the game saw several lead changes with WRA leading 15-11 after the first quarter, but the Blue Streaks putting together a strong second quarter to pull ahead by one at halftime 23-22.
The Blue Streaks came out of halftime clicking on all cylinders, hitting four three-pointers in five possessions midway through the third quarter extending the lead to as much as 16. The Pioneers refused to give up, upping their defensive pressure and going on a couple mini runs. A
Sheridan Oberhand '25 three pointer cut the deficit to 54-48 with just under two minutes to play, but a layup followed by an and-one by the Blue Streaks was all they would need to close out the game with a final score of 63-51. The girls play two games next week, starting with Strongsville High School (20-1) who is currently the #1 team in Division I in OHSAA, followed by a Friday night rivalry game down the road at Hudson High School (18-3).
