Western Reserve Academy tipped off play at The Hill School's annual holiday tournament with a convincing 64–36 victory over Perkiomen School on Friday afternoon. From the opening whistle, the Pioneers controlled the pace, rhythm, and energy of the game.
WRA came out firing, building a 24–8 lead midway through the second quarter. Perkiomen made a small push to cut the deficit to eight, but the Pioneers responded with poise, closing the half on a strong run to take a 33–15 advantage into the locker room.
The second half was all Reserve. The Pioneers maintained a lead of 20 or more for most of the third and fourth quarters, limiting any chance of a Perkiomen comeback while continuing to share the ball and defend with intensity.
Tara Nachbar '28 led the way with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals, and 2 assists in a dynamic all-around performance. Nina Bilic '28 added 13 points and 5 steals, while Emerie Davis '27 chipped in 10 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Maliyah Lofton '26 orchestrated the offense with 8 points, 8 assists, and 2 steals, and Norah Fuld '26 nearly posted a double-double with 8 points and 9 rebounds.
With the win, WRA advances to the semifinals on Saturday afternoon, where they will face Academy of Notre Dame de Namur (PA).
