Western Reserve Academy met one of Pennsylvania's premier programs on Saturday, facing Academy of Notre Dame de Namur with a trip to the Championship Game on the line. The Pioneers came out with energy and execution, fueled by strong opening-quarter play from Elon commit Norah Fuld '26 and sophomore standout Tara Nachbar '28. WRA led 22–11 after the first quarter and maintained an eight-point advantage at halftime, 31–23.
The game turned in the third quarter when Notre Dame shifted into a 2–3 zone defense. The adjustment disrupted WRA's offensive rhythm, and the Pioneers struggled to find consistent scoring opportunities. Notre Dame took advantage, outscoring Reserve 18–6 in the third and moving ahead 41–37.
WRA's defense kept the team within striking distance down the stretch, but the shots simply would not fall. Notre Dame held on for a 53–44 win to advance to the championship round.
Tara Nachbar '28 led the scoring effort with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Norah Fuld '26 delivered a double-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Kobi Marsden '28 added 7 points, while Maliyah Lofton '26 contributed 5 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists. Mia Lindal '26 also provided 3 points and 2 steals.
The Pioneers now aim to bounce back in the third-place game, taking on Springdale Prep (MD) on Sunday, December 7 at 1:00 PM.
