Western Reserve Academy kicked off its weekend at the She Got Game Classic in Washington, D.C. with an impressive 56–42 victory over a talented George School (PA) squad. Playing in front of a baseline full of college coaches at one of the nation's premier recruiting events, the Pioneers delivered a poised, balanced, and high-energy performance.
Both teams came out sharp in the opening quarter, trading baskets throughout. With WRA trailing 14–10 late in the period, the Pioneers closed on a 4–0 run, punctuated by a buzzer-beating layup from Avery Childress '29 to tie the game at 14. The back-and-forth continued until WRA grabbed a 22–20 lead with 2:30 left in the half. From there, the Pioneers seized momentum. Three consecutive three-pointers courtesy of Nina Bilic '28, Tara Nachbar '28, and Milou De Heus '28, helped spark a 9–3 run, giving WRA a 31–23 halftime advantage.
The Pioneers carried that energy into the third quarter, delivering their strongest stretch of the afternoon. A dominant 20–9 frame put the game firmly out of reach, allowing WRA to control the pace and close out a statement win against a respected and battle-tested opponent.
