WRA Battles Early Before Falling to West Clermont in Second Showcase Matchup

Western Reserve Academy wrapped up its Journey to the Tourney appearance on Sunday with a matchup against a formidable West Clermont High School team. Riding the energy and confidence from the previous night's comeback effort, the Pioneers opened the game on a 7–0 run, showing poise and tempo in the early going.

West Clermont responded with a surge of its own, heating up from the perimeter and capitalizing on a handful of WRA turnovers. Still, Reserve steadied itself and reclaimed control, building a 27–22 lead with two minutes left in the first half. But the Wolves again took advantage of WRA miscues and closed on a pivotal 12–2 run, sending the Pioneers into the break trailing 34–29.

The opening minutes of the second half proved decisive, as West Clermont found its rhythm and seized full momentum. The Wolves dominated the remainder of the game across all phases, pulling away for a 72–36 win.

Tara Nachbar '28 led WRA with 10 points, 4 steals, and 3 rebounds, continuing her strong early-season form. Nina Bilic '28 added 5 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals, providing energy on both ends. Maliyah Lofton '26 contributed 4 points, 5 assists, and 2 rebounds as she orchestrated the offense.

The Pioneers now head into a well-earned Thanksgiving break before returning to action on Tuesday, December 2, for an away matchup against the Linsly School Cadets.
