On September 28, the WRA Boys Varsity Soccer team delivered a commanding performance at home, defeating Spire with a final score of 6-2. The Pioneers took control early, scoring four goals in the first half. Gizmo Sutiklangwiharn '26 opened the scoring with assists from Sagar Patel '25 and Brendan Tan '25. Patel then found the net himself, assisted by Maximo Born '26, followed by another goal from Sutiklangwiharn with assists from Born and Carter Jackson '26. Born capped off a stellar first half with a goal, assisted by Jack Commandeur '25 and Guillermo Delgado '27, giving WRA a 4-1 lead at the break.
In the second half, Born added two more goals, bringing his total to three for the match, along with two assists, earning him the "Man of the Match" title. WRA dominated the shot count with 15 total shots and 11 on goal, while Spire managed five shots, all on target. Goalies Caydence Robinson '25 and Nishan Dakwar '26 made a combined three saves. Each team had seven corner kicks, but WRA's disciplined play was evident despite receiving two yellow cards compared to Spire's five. The Pioneers are set to face Cardinal Mooney at home on Wednesday, October 2, eager to continue their winning ways.
