On September 22, the WRA Boys Varsity Soccer team put on an impressive display against Lawrenceville (NJ) at the NXT LVL Showcase, winning decisively with a final score of 7-0. The Pioneers showcased their offensive prowess in the 1st half, scoring five goals and leaving Lawrenceville reeling. Sully Buch '25 opened the scoring with an assist from Jared Pena '25, followed by a brilliant effort from Maximo Born '26, who netted two goals with assists from Pena and Davis Novak '19. Brendan Tan '25 added to the tally with an unassisted goal, and Ian Price '27 capped off the first half with another unassisted strike.
In the 2nd half, the scoring continued with Tomás Estevez '26 finding the back of the net, assisted by Buch and Lorenzo Plaza '25, and Oliver Wray '25 rounding out the scoring with another unassisted goal. Goalies Brennan Restorick '26 and Nishan Dakwar '26 contributed to the team's stellar defensive effort, combining for five saves and helping secure the Pioneers' tenth clean sheet in eleven games. With a remarkable goal differential of +57, having scored 59 goals while allowing only 2, WRA is poised for their next challenge as they head to play the nationally #1-ranked team at St. Ignatius HS on Wednesday, September 26.
