On September 14, the WRA Girls Varsity Soccer team delivered a solid performance at home, defeating Aurora 3-1. The Pioneers came out strong, with Ky Hau Golden '25 converting an early penalty kick to put WRA ahead. Maddie McNamara '27 then added to the lead with a goal later in the first half, assisted by Alida Karsten '26, marking Karsten's first assist of the season. The team maintained their defensive composure, keeping Aurora scoreless in the first half.

In the second half, McNamara struck again, scoring off a skillful dribble from midfield to make it 3-0. Although Aurora managed a late goal from a corner kick, it wasn't enough to close the gap. The final score was 3-1 in favor of WRA. The team will look to build on this momentum as they prepare for their next home game against Hathaway Brown on September 21, 2024.
