Boys Soccer Defeats AOA in Haller's 300th Win

Yesterday, the WRA Boys Varsity Soccer team delivered a strong performance, defeating Andrews Osborne Academy 4-2 in an away match. The first half was marked by intense competition, with both teams creating scoring opportunities but failing to convert, resulting in a 0-0 stalemate at halftime. The game took a dramatic turn in the second half as AOA scored first, putting pressure on the Pioneers.

WRA quickly responded with back-to-back goals, one from Brendan Tan '25, who scored unassisted, and once from Sully Buch '25, with an assist from Tomás Estevez '26. Tan and Buch each added another, Tan's with assists from Jared Peña '25 and Maximo Born '26 and Buch's unassisted. Although AOA managed to equalize briefly, the Pioneers surged ahead with the third and fourth goals in the final ten minutes, securing the victory. Both Brendan Tan and Sully Buch were named Men of the Match for their outstanding contributions, each netting two goals. With this win, WRA's record improved to 15-2-2, and Head Coach Herb Haller notched his 300th win at the helm of the program. The team looks forward to their next match against Woodstock Academy on Saturday, October 26.
