Western Reserve Academy Wrestling hosted the 2026 Blankenship Duals on Saturday in a special Senior Day event, welcoming Conotton Valley High School and Tuscarawas Valley High School to campus. The day was highlighted by strong performances from the senior class and valuable experience gained by a talented group of underclassmen.
Seniors Diego Bermudez '26 and Blaise Bennett '26 led the way, each finishing the day undefeated at 2–0. Competing in front of the home crowd, both seniors showcased the poise, discipline, and growth that have defined their time in the program.
Sihyung Joo '28 delivered an outstanding performance, going a perfect 3–0 on the day. Mekhi Hoyte '28 added a strong 2–0 showing, while Ain Choi '28, Luke Kolencik '28, and Wenbin Tang '28 each contributed solid efforts, finishing 1–1 in their matches. Daniel Ryu '27 battled throughout the day, ending with a 1–2 record in competitive matchups.
The event provided meaningful mat time for several underclassmen as the Pioneers continue building momentum heading into the postseason.
Next up, Reserve will travel to New Church Academy to compete in the 2026 PAISWT, the qualifying tournament for the National Prep Championships.
