The Western Reserve Academy wrestling team turned in a strong showing at the Delaware Christian School Eagles' Classic on January 31, gaining valuable mat time as the season continues.
Daniel Ryu '27 led the way with a dominant performance, going a perfect 5–0 on the day. Ryu recorded four pins and capped off his tournament with an impressive 15–7 major decision in the finals to claim first place at the 132-pound weight class.
Several younger Pioneers also delivered standout performances. Ain Choi '28 competed in his first-ever wrestling tournament and finished with a 4–1 record, earning a third-place finish. Mekhi Hoyte '28 secured a second place after a strong 6–1 showing. Wenbin Tang '28 battled through the bracket to finish fourth with a 4–2 record, while Sihyung Joo '28 rounded out the team's efforts with an eighth-place finish.
The Pioneers will return to action on Saturday, February 7, when they host the Blankenship Duals at Western Reserve Academy.
