Pioneers Dominate Guangming Academy in California Showcase

The Western Reserve Academy Boys Varsity Basketball team delivered a commanding performance on Saturday in Los Angeles, defeating Guangming Academy 94–39 to close out their California trip on a high note.

The Pioneers established control early, using defensive pressure and efficient offense to build a 37–17 lead by halftime. Reserve's intensity on both ends of the floor set the tone, as they forced turnovers, controlled the glass, and created scoring opportunities in transition.

Western Reserve continued to extend its lead in the second half, showcasing balanced scoring and unselfish play. The Pioneers' depth was on full display, with multiple players contributing to the dominant victory.

Anthony Thompson '26 led the team with 19 points and 5 rebounds, while Henry Fox '27 added 15 points and 7 rebounds in a strong all-around effort. Breylon Webb '26 contributed 11 points and 7 rebounds, and Asher Suardini '27 chipped in 9 points as Reserve cruised to the convincing win.

The Pioneers will look to carry their momentum into their next matchup when they return home to face Winston-Salem Christian on February 20.
