The Western Reserve Academy Girls Varsity Tennis team remained unbeaten on Tuesday, September 9, after earning a hard-fought 3–2 victory over the Solon Comets at home. The win improved the Pioneers' record to 6–0 on the season.

Reserve struck early with strong play in singles. Rithi Hegde '29 set the tone with a dominant 6–1, 6–1 win at #2 singles over Adriana Friedman. At the top of the lineup, Denisse Jimenez Robles '26 continued her unbeaten season, defeating Sanvi Singh 6–2, 6–2 at #1 singles to extend WRA's lead to 2–0.

Solon responded with a victory at #2 doubles, as Norah Fried and Paulina Ioffe topped Carina Tang '28 and Nadia Kischke '26 6–3, 6–3. With the match hanging in the balance, Sia Mahesh '27 delivered the clinching point for the Pioneers, securing a 6–2, 6–3 win at #3 singles over Olivia Cruise.

The final match of the day came at #1 doubles, where Sasha Hillard '29 and Riya Patel '26 battled back from a first-set loss to force a decisive match tie-breaker. Despite their comeback effort, the duo fell 6–3, 4–6, 1–0 (7) to Solon's Claire Huang and Isabella Chang, giving the Comets their second team point.

In exhibition play, Anna Barger '27 dropped two one-set matches against Solon's Sophia Zhang (6–1) and Audrey Wang (6–1).

The Pioneers return to action on Wednesday, September 10, when they host Laurel at 4:30 p.m.
