The WRA Girls Varsity Tennis team remained perfect on the season with a 5–0 road sweep of Bay High School on Wednesday, extending their record to 16–0 and securing the NEO High School League division title.
The Pioneers opened with commanding doubles play. Junior Lauren Keller '27 and sophomore Nadia Kischke '28 struck first with a composed 6–1, 6–0 win at #2 doubles. Shortly after, the reunited pairing of senior co-captain Denisse Jimenez Robles '26 and junior Lela Yajnik '27 looked sharp at #1 doubles, cruising to a 6–0, 6–0 victory.
The singles lineup sealed the deal with equal authority. Freshman Sasha Hillard '29, making her varsity singles debut at #3, played with confidence and earned a decisive 6–1, 6–1 win to clinch the match. Junior co-captain Sia Mahesh '27 followed with a 6–0, 6–1 win at #2 singles, and freshman standout Rithi Hegde '29 closed out the sweep with an impressive 6–1, 6–1 result at #1 singles over Bay's top player.
The victory marked another milestone in an already historic season as Reserve notched its 16th consecutive win and locked up the league crown.
Next up, the Pioneers face two big late-season challenges: a road trip to Shady Side Academy (PA) on Friday, Oct. 3, followed by a clash with Massillon Jackson on Monday, Oct. 6.
