Hudson, OH – Just two days after grinding out a defensive road win, Western Reserve Academy unleashed an offensive masterpiece, overwhelming the Phelps School 113-96 on February 2nd at home. The Pioneers tied their season high in points while committing a mere six turnovers.
After surrendering the game's opening basket, WRA seized control and never trailed again. The Pioneers shot 51.7% from the field, went a flawless 9-for-9 from the free-throw line, and buried 14 threes in a display of unselfish, high-octane basketball.
CJ Stinson ('25) flirted with another triple-double, erupting for 32 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists while committing just one turnover. Torr Sorensen ('25) caught fire from beyond the arc, draining five three-pointers en route to 23 points and 8 rebounds. Dom Sprague ('26) added a double-double (19 points, 10 rebounds), and Pavle Ridesic ('25) rounded out the balanced attack with 10 points and 5 assists. Five Pioneers scored in double figures; a common theme among this group.
WRA now enjoys a week to prepare for a critical road trip, heading to Massanutten Military Academy in Woodstock, VA. They will play two games, Friday, February 7th, and Saturday, February 8th. If Sunday's performance was any indication, the Pioneers' offense is peaking at the perfect time.
