Boys Basketball Varsity Claims Mercer Holiday Invitational Title with Win Over Hill School

The Western Reserve Academy boys varsity basketball team capped a dominant weekend by defeating Hill School 87–58 on Saturday to claim the Mercer Holiday Invitational Tournament championship.

Hill jumped out to an early 14–4 lead, but Reserve responded with poise and intensity, quickly settling in on both ends of the floor. WRA surged ahead behind a balanced offensive attack and locked-in defense, taking a commanding 43–25 lead into halftime. The Pioneers' shooting was a decisive factor, as they connected on 14 three-pointers over the course of the game.

Anthony Thompson '26 delivered a championship performance, scoring 28 points and pulling down seven rebounds. His impact throughout the tournament earned him MVP honors. Cam Hailey '26 added 12 points while directing the offense, and Breylon Webb '26 contributed seven points and eight rebounds with strong play in the paint. Reserve also received valuable scoring from Henry Fox '27 and Donovan Carney '26, who each finished with nine points.

Western Reserve Academy maintained control throughout the second half, extending the lead and showcasing the depth and chemistry that defined their tournament run. The victory secured the Mercer Holiday Invitational title and underscored the team's strong start to the season.
