Boys Basketball Varsity Advances at Mercer Invitational with Win Over Peddie

The Western Reserve Academy boys varsity basketball team continued its strong run at the Mercer Invitational Tournament with a 72–59 road victory over Peddie School on Friday night.

After a competitive opening stretch, Reserve seized control before halftime, using efficient offense and team-oriented play to build a 40–28 lead at the break. The Pioneers moved the ball exceptionally well, finishing the night with 17 assists, a testament to their unselfish execution and offensive balance.

Anthony Thompson '26 delivered a standout performance, pouring in 25 points and grabbing seven rebounds to lead all scorers. Braylon Webb '26 added 11 points, providing a spark as WRA maintained steady pressure throughout the second half.

Peddie attempted to close the gap after halftime, but Reserve stayed composed, defended well, and continued to capitalize on quality scoring opportunities to secure the win and advance in the tournament.

Western Reserve Academy will return to action on Saturday, December 20, traveling to face Hill School in the next round of the Mercer Invitational Tournament.
