Western Reserve Academy put together an outstanding team performance at the Edgewood Invitational Tournament on December 13, highlighted by two individual champions and a podium finish across several weight classes. The Pioneers showcased toughness, consistency, and continued growth as they move deeper into the season.
Carmello Kolb '28 dominated the 120-pound bracket, finishing the weekend 4–0 and earning first place. Kolb won all four of his matches by technical fall or pin, demonstrating excellent control and an aggressive offensive style that set the tone for the WRA squad.
At 132 pounds, Braydden Crum-Humburg '28 also turned in a perfect 4–0 performance on his way to a first-place finish. Crum wrestled with poise in every round, securing key takedowns and maintaining strong positioning throughout the tournament.
Hwan Jung '26 added another impressive showing for the Pioneers, going 4–1 on the weekend and finishing in third place. His effort included several hard-fought victories and a strong rebound after his lone loss.
It was a successful outing for WRA, with multiple athletes earning valuable match experience and building momentum heading into January.
