In their second game at the National Prep Showcase, Western Reserve Academy delivered another gritty and competitive performance but fell just short in a 77–75 battle with Cushing Academy. The Pioneers trailed 36–32 at halftime yet remained within striking distance throughout, showing resilience and poise against one of the region's top prep programs.
Anthony Thompson '26 continued his dominant weekend with 21 points and 15 rebounds, controlling the glass and providing key baskets in critical moments. Cam Hailey '26 added 20 points, attacking the defense and keeping WRA's offense steady throughout the night. Luka Ioannisci '27 turned in a breakout performance with 17 points, giving Reserve an additional scoring spark.
Despite a late push and multiple chances to tie or take the lead, WRA couldn't close the final gap, ending a challenging but encouraging weekend in New England.
The Pioneers return home for their next matchup on December 3, when they host OUR Prep.
