Pioneers Edge Kent in 2–1 Road Victory

The WRA Field Hockey team continued its strong stretch of play with a thrilling 2–1 win over Kent on Thursday, October 2. The Pioneers combined sharp execution on offense with disciplined defense to earn the well-deserved victory.

Lydia Stropki '26 set the tone early, scoring in the first quarter to give WRA an early lead. After a tense back-and-forth battle, Kenzie Kuhn '28 delivered the game-winner in the fourth quarter, capping off a strong offensive effort that saw the Pioneers generate nine penalty corners throughout the match.

In goal, Sarah Johnson '29 continued her standout season with eight saves, anchoring the defense and keeping Kent's attack in check.

It was a full-team effort marked by smart passing, strong communication, and relentless energy from start to finish. The Pioneers will look to carry that momentum into their next matchup on Tuesday, October 2, when they travel to Shaker Heights at 6:00 p.m.
