Hudson, OH – Western Reserve Academy delivered a statement 95-71 win over Erie Prep on January 29th, fueled by a triple-double from CJ Stinson ('25) and a relentless second-half surge from the Pioneers.
Both teams traded blows in a tightly contested first half. But after halftime, WRA flipped a switch. At the heart of it all was senior standout CJ Stinson ('25), who etched his name into the program's record books with the team's first triple-double of the season: 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 13 assists.
Stinson wasn't alone in the spotlight. Anthony Thompson ('26) continued his reign as a two-way force, dropping 20 points and snatching 11 rebounds. Senior leader Torr Sorensen ('25) added 17 points with clutch buckets from deep, while Trey Cady ('25) electrified the crowd with 11 points, including a thunderous breakaway dunk. Floor general Dom Sprague ('26) rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points, anchoring the offense with poise.
The Pioneers dominance and physical edge in the paint told the story, drawing fouls at will and converting 22-of-29 free throws—a stark contrast to Erie's 7-of-8.
With momentum surging, WRA now faces a quick turnaround, traveling to Saltsburg, PA, for a Friday night battle against Kiski (Jan 31st ). The JV tips at 5:30 PM, followed by Varsity at 7 PM
