Pioneers Fall to Utah Prep at Iverson Classic

Newark, NJ – Western Reserve Academy's boys varsity basketball team faced a tough challenge in their second game back from winter break, falling to Utah Prep 92-71 at the prestigious Iverson Classic on Saturday, January 11th.

Utah Prep's AJ Dybantsa, the nation's #1 ranked player, put on a stellar performance, finishing with 39 points and 11 rebounds to lead his team. Despite the loss, the Pioneers showed flashes of resilience, with CJ Stinson ('25) leading the charge for WRA with 22 points. Anthony Thompson ('26) added 16 points, while Dom Sprague ('26) contributed 15. Reserve's normally balanced offensive attack was limited, as they were unable to get more players into double figures.

The team looks to rebound quickly as they return home to host Andrews Osborne Academy (AOA) in the Memorial Gym this Wednesday, January 15th, at 6 PM. WRA will aim to reset and recapture their winning form in front of their home crowd.
