Geneva, OH – Western Reserve Academy's boys varsity basketball team capped off a successful weekend with an 85-69 victory over Andrews Osborne Academy on Sunday, December 8th. After a brief 2-0 deficit, the Pioneers took control and never looked back, building a lead that grew to as many as 27 points.
The Pios returned to their high-powered, balanced offense with five players scoring in double figures. Curtis Stinson ('25) led all scorers with 20 points while also filling the stat sheet with 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. Anthony Thompson ('26) added 18 points and 6 rebounds, continuing his strong start to the season. Donovan Carney ('26) contributed 13 points, while Trey Cady ('25) and Dom Sprague ('26) chipped in 11 each, with Sprague dishing out 6 assists. On the defensive end, WRA stifled AOA's shooters, holding them to just 13% from beyond the arc, a testament to the Pioneers' energy and effort.
Next up, WRA returns home to host Athletes in Action from Dayton, OH, on Monday, December 9th, at 6 PM. The Pioneers will look to keep their momentum rolling in front of their home crowd.
