Reserve Prevails Against Spire Post Grad

Geneva, OH – Western Reserve Academy's boys varsity basketball team showcased resilience in a hard-fought 81-71 victory over Spire Academy's Post-Grad team on Saturday, December 7th.

The first half saw a back-and-forth contest, with neither team gaining a significant edge. However, WRA took control in the second half, outworking Spire on both ends of the court despite a game marred by turnovers. Both teams recorded 18 turnovers, and WRA struggled from beyond the arc, hitting just three 3-pointers—their lowest total of the season.

Curtis Stinson ('25) led the Pioneers with 23 points, putting his scoring ability on full display. Anthony Thompson ('26) continued his dominant play with another double-double, tallying 21 points and 10 rebounds. Dom Sprague ('26) also contributed double figures, solidifying the team's effort in a challenging matchup.

WRA will return to Spire Academy tomorrow, Sunday, December 8th, to take on Andrews Osborne Academy from Willoughby, OH. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 PM as the Pioneers aim to build on their momentum.
