Pottstown, PA – Western Reserve boys varsity basketball team concluded 2024 with a strong showing at the prestigious Mercer Invitational, earning a 3rd-place finish. Across three games in three days, the Pioneers showcased resilience, depth, and balanced scoring to head into the holiday break on a high note.

Game 2: Westtown (PA) 94, WRA 89 (2OT)
Friday's semifinal was a thriller, as WRA fell just short in a double-overtime battle against Westtown, 94-89. CJ Stinson '25 delivered a standout performance with 25 points and 10 assists, while Anthony Thompson '26 also notched a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Torr Sorensen '25 contributed 14 points and 9 boards, and Donovan Carney '26 added 15 points, including five three-pointers. WRA was flawless at the free-throw line (10-10), but Westtown's late-game execution and 19-24 shooting from the stripe proved decisive.

In Saturday's consolation game, WRA closed the weekend with a 98-93 victory over St. Andrews.
