Hudson, OH – Western Reserve Academy's varsity boys basketball team extended their winning streak to six games with commanding victories over Dohn Prep and Spire Academy this past week.
On Wednesday, the Pioneers defeated Dohn Prep (Cincinnati, OH) in a high-scoring affair, 113-78. Anthony Thompson ('26) continued his stellar season, leading all scorers with 29 points. Trey Cady ('25) added 17 points, while CJ Stinson ('25) delivered a masterclass in playmaking with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists, and zero turnovers. The team's efficiency was on full display, recording an impressive 27 assists against only 6 turnovers, and for the second time this season, six players finished in double figures.
On Saturday, WRA took on Spire Academy and secured another dominant win, 98-73. Thompson ('26) once again led the charge with 23 points and 9 rebounds. Cady ('25) added 13 points, contributing to a balanced offensive effort. The Pioneers controlled the boards the entire game, out-rebounding Spire 48-15.
WRA now stands at 6-0 on the season. This week, Reserve prepares for a tough challenge at the National Prep Showcase in New England. They'll face Mt. Zion Prep (MD) on Friday at 7 PM and New Hampton School (NH) on Saturday at 2 PM, looking to continue their unbeaten start.
